Hours Online for Volunteers and Fosters

In order to recognize the substantial benefit provided by volunteers to the well-being and on-going health of Dreampower, the incentives listed below are available to volunteers for their service. Volunteers may elect to receive an award at any level, and the number of units for that award will be subtracted from the number of units banked. Volunteers may choose rewards from lower categories or may elect to continue earning units towards more substantial rewards. Once a volunteer reaches the 1000 unit level, he/she has one month to "spend" those units as desired; then the tracking will begin again at "0". Fosters will accrue units at the rate of two per animal per day fostered, up to a maximum of 16 hours in any one day. Excludes Perm Fosters. Volunteers are responsible for tracking their own hours and for notifying the volunteer coordinator when they are ready to "cash in" their units for an incentive. Volunteers can accrue "stars" depending on how much they do for DP. Staff, fellow volunteers and the public must request a DP Volunteer recieve a "star" by calling/emailing or mailing the DP office and giving the name of the volunteer(s) and what reason they are requesting the "star". At the end of a three month period, the staff will sit down, add up each DP volunteer's "stars" and award gifts accordingly.
